We’re seeking a creative and impact-driven Social Media & Media Relations Specialist to craft and deliver a compelling communication strategy that amplifies the voice, visibility, and value of a transformation-focused leadership initiative. This role goes beyond content—it’s about shifting narratives, influencing mindsets, and supporting a broader change agenda that champions inclusion, equity, and innovation in leadership across the energy sector.
Key Requirements:
Strategic Communication & Change Narrative Design
- Develop and execute a communications strategy that reflects the programme’s transformational objectives, milestones, and behavioural shifts
- Craft a strong digital voice that positions participants, mentors, and partners as agents of change and thought leaders in their field
- Align messaging with change management efforts—emphasising empowerment, capability building, and collaborative leadership
Social Media Strategy & Engagement
- Lead the development of a cohesive multi-platform content strategy (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube) with weekly thematic content and campaign cycles
- Produce and schedule daily content, including motion graphics, testimonials, spotlight features, and transformation stories
- Deliver live coverage for virtual sessions, peer events, and milestone moments to keep audiences engaged and informed in real-time
Media Relations & Influence
- Build relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists in the development, gender and leadership
- Draft press releases, opinion pieces, and feature stories that position the programme’s outcomes within broader public and sectoral discourse
- Facilitate interviews, media appearances, and storytelling opportunities that elevate the visibility of champions and changemakers
Integrated Digital Storytelling
- Curate impact narratives through blogs, newsletters, reels, and photo essays that highlight personal transformation, leadership growth, and system impact
- Develop a consistent brand identity and visual tone across communication channels in partnership with designers
- Translate data and milestones into compelling visual and written updates that support adaptive learning and stakeholder engagement
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on engagement, reach, and resonance using analytics tools (Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Use data to optimise content, timing, and platforms for greater impact and alignment with stakeholder interests
- Prepare final communications impact report detailing reach, media wins, campaign performance, and transformation outcomes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years in social media management, strategic communications, or media relations, ideally within advocacy, development, or transformation initiatives
- Expertise in crafting compelling change stories and movement-driven content
- Strong understanding of inclusive language and gender-transformative communication
- Skilled in cross-channel content creation, live event coverage, and campaign planning
- Adept at using analytics to inform strategy, adapt messaging, and show communications ROI
