Role Overview:
Our client is looking for an Intermediate Technical Business Analyst to join a 6-month contract assignment based in Centurion. This role is suited to a Business Analyst with strong technical understanding, solid documentation skills and experience working closely with business stakeholders, developers, system architects and testing teams.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience in business analysis, systems analysis or a similar role.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, business process modelling and documentation.
- Experience supporting system integration projects.
- Good understanding of IT systems, databases, APIs and data mapping concepts.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Engaging with business stakeholders to understand needs, challenges and process improvements.
- Creating process flows, user stories, use cases, UML diagrams and supporting documentation.
- Working with developers, system architects and testers to ensure requirements are correctly understood and delivered.
- Supporting system integration activities and assisting with testing, including SIT and UAT.
- Interpreting API documentation and supporting integration-related discussions.
- Performing basic data validation and analysis using SQL.
- Supporting troubleshooting of system issues, data integrity concerns and business process gaps.
- Assisting with deployment, implementation support, post-deployment validation and change management activities.
- Preparing user documentation, training material and process documentation where required.
Technical Skills Required:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for:SQL scripting and query development.
- Ability to read and interpret API documentation.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Understanding of relational databases, data models and data validation.
- Experience creating functional requirements documentation, user stories and process flows.
- Basic HTML knowledge would be advantageous.
- Exposure to WPF or similar front-end frameworks would be beneficial.
Advantageous
- Business Analysis certifications such as ECBA, CCBA, CBAP or AAC.
- Project Management or Agile-related certifications.
- Experience in telecommunications or technology environments.
- Experience with Zendesk and/or Splynx systems.
